You start in Chemnitz city centre. After a short ride you reach the city park. You cycle along the Chemnitz River on flat paths through the green lungs of the city. Several playgrounds and numerous benches invite you to linger.
Soon you turn right and ride south along the Würschnitz. After the first small climb, you will pass the Luther Church in Harthau, which is visible from afar. After a total of 11 kilometres, another highlight follows, the Klaffenbach moated castle. Its unique location and construction is reminiscent of a fairytale castle. In the castle courtyard there are places to stop for refreshments and a wonderfully designed playground will make the little ones' hearts beat faster.
After a relaxing stay, leave the moated castle behind you and cycle through Neukirchen and on along a quiet flagstone path towards Mittelbach. Now the route continues to Grüna and on small side roads you reach the cycle path along the Kappelbach. Pass the Chemnitz Zoo, which is well worth a detour, and cycle back along the quiet cycle path towards the city centre. A well-known ice cream shop offers the perfect reward for this wonderful tour.
