Discover the city's oldest landmark
The Red Tower was built at the end of the 12th century and is the city's oldest landmark. The tower owes its name to the red color of the attached brick storey. Over the course of time, the Red Tower has taken on various functions: Keep, part of the old town wall, prison and museum.
The Red Tower is open from 12.00 - 14.00 on the following weekends:

Red Tower tour with city centre
Learn exciting stories about the oldest building in the city centre!
You have to climb 100 steps to enjoy a special view from the oldest building in the city. In addition to the history of the city, you will learn about the spectacular prison inmate who served time here. After the guided tour, a short tour of the city centre awaits you.
