The Chemnitz Christmas market traditionally opens from 1 December to 23 December 2023 from Monday to Thursday from 11:00 to 20:00, on Fridays from 11:00 to 21:00, on Saturdays from 10:00 to 21:00 and on Sundays from 10:00 to 20:00 on the market square of the city of Chemnitz.
On Friday, 1 December 2023, Chemnitz opens its doors to the contemplative days of the year, welcoming in the glamour and cheerfulness of Advent. Until 23 December, the extensive area around the town hall will be transformed into a Christmas world with a total of 230 stalls. The traditional Chemnitz Christmas market is particularly impressive due to its authenticity and its typical range of Erzgebirge folk art, local specialities, Christmas treats of all kinds and beautiful gift ideas.
The medieval market and the varied stage programme are also special highlights this year. The traditional mountain parade will take place on 2 December 2023. The festive backdrop of the new city centre, illuminated by the glow of thousands of lights in enticing shop windows, completes the pre-Christmas experience for visitors from near and far.
