Kraftverkehr Chemnitz - Events, trade fairs and shows
The Hall of Motor Traffic was built in 1960 and provided a roof for the trucks of VEB Kraftverkehr Karl-Marx-Stadt. The unique roof construction is a listed building in terms of architecture and construction. Last but not least, the hall was considered the largest self-supporting hall in the GDR. Entrepreneur Andreas Wöllenstein took over the area many years ago, so that the hall served as a transporter and lorry workshop.
After the relocation of the lorry workshop and the new construction of the transporter workshop, the first plans to convert it into a congress and event hall emerged. Under the direction of Andreas Wöllenstein, the motor transport was extensively renovated in 2017 without losing any of its special industrial charm. The newly created Chemnitz Culture and Congress Centre offers a unique event location for creative and classic event concepts.
